Method Of Payment
Pickering Softball pays all umpires by cheque.
Payment will be made every three weeks (generally
commencing the week of June).
Please note that umpires will not receive their
final cheque (including performance bonus for Junior
Development Umpires, if applicable) until such time
that all
loaned equipment has been returned to Pickering Softball.
Recognition Of Games Umpired
It is the umpire's responsibility to report games
officiated via the Pickering Softball Web Site.
This game report should be completed within 24 hours
of his / her umpiring assignment to ensure prompt
payment. In addition, each umpire must sign
(and clearly print his / her name) on the score
sheet of the winning team. Under this plan,
umpires will no longer need to have a pay sheet
signed.
Assignment
Of Games
Every umpire will be given the opportunity to
officiate at least one game (and ideally two) per
week from June 1st to August 1st.
Umpires for playoff games will be
determined based on the following four factors:
?
skill demonstrated
?
dependability
?
commitment
?
seniority.
