The PSA “Parent Contract”

Please remember the basic beliefs of our organization (detailed below) while enjoying the efforts of all our members (players, coaches, umpires and parents) during the regular and play-off season.

  • I will remember that Softball is a game and my child is playing for his or her enjoyment, not mine.

  • I will always encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve any conflicts, without resorting to hostility / violence or verbal abuse.

  • I will teach my child that doing their best is as important as winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game.

  • I will make my child feel like a winner every time, by offering praise for competing fairly and for doing their best.

  • I will never ridicule or yell at my child for making a mistake or losing a game.

  • I will remember that children learn best by examples, including my own and the other adults present.

  • I will applaud good performances and efforts, by both my child's team and their opponents.

  • I will not force my child to participate.

  • I will never question any Umpire's judgment or honesty in public. Most umpires are also young and still learning and I will treat them, as I would want other adults to treat my child, if my child was an Umpire.

  • I will support all efforts to remove any and all verbal and physical abuse.

  • I will respect and show appreciation for the volunteers who give their time for my child.

  • I will respect and show appreciation for the other parents who share and practice these beliefs.
